Hello there,

As we hurtle through Pride season and towards the last UK bank holiday of the summer, there are lots of things bubbling away at Proud Studios HQ!

First up, I’m thrilled that my project ‘UNCUT – A Celebration of Queer Joy’ has been published by Attitude magazine, just six months after I began the work. It couldn’t have found a better home. Read more here.

As part of my ongoing investigations into LGBTQIA+ identity and queer joy, UNCUT follows on from ‘The Identity Project’ and ‘Beyond The Binary’.

The project is ongoing — if you’d like to participate or support the Crowdfunder to help share more queer stories, please check my links.

Thank you to everyone who trusted me with their stories.

EXHIBITION: Beyond The Binary at Google HQ, London

Kicking off Pride In London week, I was delighted to be asked to show ‘Beyond The Binary – a celebration of trans joy’ at Google’s two London HQs. A collab with the Trans at Google employee resource group, there are 14 x A2 prints with accompanying text on display at Google UK Kings Cross and Google UK St Giles High St as the ERG Summer Series exhibition for the whole of July and in to August.

EXHIBITION: The Power of Identity at the Embassy of Mexico, London

I was honoured to be selected to participate in the group show at the Embassy of Mexico in London – Q·4.0: The Power of Identity – the fourth edition of this trailblazing celebration of Queer creativity, where art becomes a powerful force for identity, visibility and connection.

In front of an audience of LGBTQIA+ creatives, allies, diplomats and the Mexican Ambassador to UK, Josefa Gonzalez-Blanco (pictured above), I unveiled the gorgeous portrait of Miss Disney from my new series UNCUT.

EXHIBITION: Identity at The Glasgow Gallery of Photography

I’m excited to share that I’ve been selected for the international photography exhibition ‘IDENTITY’ at The Glasgow Gallery of Photography this October.

I can’t reveal yet which image has been chosen, but it is from The Identity Project and will be appearing in colour for the first time.

The exhibition is open and free to enter throughout October with a launch event on Saturday 4th October. I’ll be there is anyone is in the area!

CROWD FUNDER TO SUPPORT LGBTQ+ ART PROJECTS

Queer art isn’t a luxury. It’s a lifeline.

Proud Studios exists to make space for LGBTQ+ voices, stories and creativity. Projects like UNCUT bring our community together, tackle isolation and offer vital visibility.

When queer people see themselves reflected in art, it helps build confidence, connection and belonging. When the wider world sees us, it challenges stereotypes and sparks understanding.

We’re raising funds to deliver more LGBTQ+ creative projects, more exhibitions and more collaborations.

Your support will help cover venue costs, materials, artist fees and outreach work, and support queer people from all backgrounds to take part.

This is about more than art. It’s about mental health, social cohesion and giving our community space to breathe and grow.

If you can, please donate. Share. Spread the word.

Let’s build something powerful – together.

Queer Bloomsbury 2025 — 13-14 September
Book your tickets

Our friends over at Charleston have a feast of queer art, writing, drag, fashion, clubbing and protest, featuring radical conversations, moving tributes and deliciously risqué cabaret performances, plus, a free exhibition of seven quilt blocks from the UK AIDS Memorial Quilt. Challenge the status quo and imagine new ways of living at Charleston, just as the Bloomsbury group did a century ago.

And lastly, Hove Hands my LGBTQIA+ massage and wellness studio right here in Brighton & Hove is fully open.

At Hove Hands, we believe in the power of touch to heal, rejuvenate, and bring about a sense of well-being. We understand the importance of creating a safe and welcoming space for everyone, and to provide an inclusive environment where you can truly relax and be yourself.

Find out more about Hove Hands and our services here, and if you are in the Brighton & Hove area, please do come along and book in for a treatment or maybe buy a voucher for a loved one and give the gift of relaxation. You’ll be supporting an independent queer business and investing in more LGBTQIA+ art projects.

It’s tough out there at the moment for arts and queer organisations, so thank you again for supporting Proud Studios and our projects. And if you can, please donate to the Crowdfunder. Share. Spread the word.

With gratitude and love,
Chris x
