Before the year ends, there’s something exciting to share. This February, UNCUT – A Celebration of Queer Joy – will have its first solo exhibition for LGBTQ+ History Month. The exhibition will take over Brighton’s Seafront Gallery, right next to the i360, giving thousands of visitors the chance to experience it for free in an accessible outdoor setting.
Created by local award-winning photographer Chris Jepson, the exhibition is built around nine stone gabions, offering 36 large-format portraits paired with words from the subjects themselves. These images and stories represent a diverse mix of ages, identities and backgrounds, capturing a vivid snapshot of queer life today.
We are looking for local businesses and organisations to help make this exhibition possible. Your support will help cover production and installation costs and ensure the exhibition remains free and open to everyone. In return, your business will be publicly acknowledged, featured in promotional materials, and connected to a high-profile, community-focused cultural event.
If you would like to support UNCUT and help bring queer stories to the heart of Brighton, we would love to hear from you. Every contribution, large or small, makes a difference.
ZINE
To ensure the stories reach beyond the gallery, a limited-edition, full-colour zine will accompany the exhibition, featuring every portrait and personal account with a page of supporter logos and thanks.
KICKSTARTER
All of my work is self-funded so I have launched a Kickstarter to support the exhibition and the zine. Supporters of the project can pledge through Kickstarter to help fund large-format printing, weatherproof mounting, zine production and participant expenses, ensuring the work remains accessible to all.
Rewards include signed zines, limited edition signed prints and 1-2-1 photoshoots with me!
