LGBTQ+ Pride means embracing who I am without apology and celebrating the strength it takes to live authentically. To me, Pride is about love, identity, freedom and community. It honors the people who fought for equality before us, while reminding me that everyone deserves to feel safe, accepted and valued exactly as they are.

Pride is not just a celebration — it is resilience, self-expression and standing proudly in my truth. It means supporting others, uplifting diverse voices and creating a world where nobody has to hide who they love or who they are.

Pride is about courage, confidence and the power of being unapologetically myself.

Proud Brighton – United in Pride.

This project continues my long-term commitment to photographing LGBTQIA+ lives.
For over thirty years, my work has centred on visibility, authorship and who gets to be seen.
Proud Brighton is a portrait exhibition marking the 35th anniversary of Brighton & Hove Pride.
