UNCUT Comes to Plus X for Pride
A celebration of Queer Joy & Identity
We’re bringing UNCUT to Plus X this Pride, and it’s a version of the exhibition you haven’t seen before.
UNCUT is a portrait series shot in a barber’s chair, with no filters, no retouching and no compromise. Barbershops have long been places of transformation, where identities are shaped and stories are shared, but they haven’t always felt welcoming to everyone. UNCUT reclaims that space for queer bodies, queer styles and queer joy. Every scar, freckle, line and expression stays in. This is a celebration, not a sanitisation.
For this Pride showing at Plus X, the exhibition has been redesigned from the ground up. It now features 36 portraits, the fullest presentation of the series to date, hung across a space that couldn’t be further from a barbershop and that’s exactly the point. Taking these images out of their original setting and into Plus X’s innovation hub puts queer joy in front of a completely new audience, in a building built for people who do things differently.
