About Max
An openly queer, transmasculine, non-binary individual, Max moved to London from Brisbane, Australia with his fiancée in October 2023 to experience living abroad while pursuing career development. He found that the trans/non-binary community in Brisbane was quite small, and since moving to the UK made it his goal to pursue his hobbies and passions again whilst taking advantage of the vast communities, events and opportunities to meet other LGBTQIA+ people.
JOY
To me, Trans Joy is the freedom to exist, explore and chase euphoric feelings. Sharing safe spaces and connecting with other trans and non-binary folk.
In a world that often struggles to fully embrace diversity and inclusion, ‘Beyond the Binary – The Spectrum Of Trans Joy’ is a project dedicated to fostering social cohesion and visibility for the trans and intersex community. This fresh initiative from the award-winning queer photographer Chris Jepson seeks to empower and celebrate the trans+ community by showcasing authentic joy through a captivating series of individual and group portraits.
