Paul (he/him)
“This outfit does so much for me. It makes me feel empowered, in control, super sexy and reminds me that identity, for me at least, is complex, multi-layered and can appear strong and solid whilst being fragile at the same time. I love the contradictions.”
Paul is a 61 year old charity executive director living with HIV. To him, being queer means being free, and he expresses his identity through his style, clothing, jewellery and confidence.
His message to his younger self, and queer kids today, would be; “Be yourself. It’s cool”.

This is UNCUT — a raw, striking portrait series by award-winning photographer Chris Jepson capturing the power and pride of Queer Joy, shot in a barber’s chair. No filters, no retouching, no compromise. Just bold, beautiful people taking up space exactly as they are.
